Overview
Monneed is a mobile application to easily transfer money to several different countries. Users can create accounts and after verification of identity via different government-issued identification. Monneed solved the issue of money transferring issues from different traditional methods.Challenge
- Simplify the user transaction so that the user does not need to enter the same information for every transaction.
- Redesign the user flow of complete transaction
- Find and create a solution for saving user information
Role
Role: UX/UI Designer
Timeline: 3 Months
Platform: Mobile Application
Team: Monneed Inc.
Approach
- Understanding Requirements
- Research and Analysis
- User Flow Designs
- Wireframe Designs
- Low Fidelity Mockup
Process
The CEO of Monneed was not satisfied with the initial approach to the transaction done by the user. Stack holders were comparing the app with different competitors in the market. I took a similar approach and tried different apps including different banking apps. By applying learning from the market within the system limitation and asking for the necessary information from the user, I have made changes to the user flow. Results
- Easy user flow
- Easy data storage
- New UI
- Better performance

Research
As I am a regular user of different money transfer applications, I knew what was missing from the flow. I have realized so many times while using these applications that most of the information they are asking is repetitive and unnecessary. I put my learning into Monneed and at the same time, I have tried new applications (reference given by stack-holders). The next step was for me to remove unnecessary user forms and information from the flow. Before that, I need to connect with the developer to understand what information can be removed and what information is mandatory. Coming next steps were completely based on initial learning, user requirements, and technical limitations.Competitor Analysis
As compared to the market, Monneed had both pros and cons.Pros:
- No physical store (Only Bank Transactions)
- Secured transactions
- Cheaper transaction cost
- Fast delivery
Cons:
- No physical store (Not all users have bank accounts)
- New to the market
By understanding the Analysis, I decided to move forward with only the targeted users. As Monneed is using a third-party agency for money transfers to different countries, they were not planning to target users without Bank Accounts.
User Flow Design
As Monneed is only handling the bank transactions, I have added two separate modules:
- Transaction
- Recipients
To do any transaction, the user must add all the necessary information of the Recipient including their personal information, contact information, and banking information.
Once the user has saved the recipient’s information, they will be able to transfer the money. The recipient’s information will be saved in the user’s account so that for any future transactions, users do not need to add the same information again.
UI Designs
After the initial user flow was approved, I designed the wireframes to give an idea about the final UIs.
